The first blockbuster deal of 2008 was consummated between BINGO (formerly Blak Jesus) and the Beavercats.

Can you believe that shit? The Philadephia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys today but the play that will be remembered for years was the last one that mattered. On 2nd down from the Dallas 25 with 2+ minutes to go, the Eagles RB Brian Westbrook took a right sweep, made a move on a safety and was on his way to the end zone on a twenty five yard run...until he decided to drop down at the one inch line. With no timeouts left, the Eagles could let the clock roll down to the two minute warning then kneel down four consecutive plays.

NFL.com's Pat Kirwan considers some teams with depth that might be interested in dealing players prior to or during training camp. There are some interesting kernel's in there but as usual football trades close to the season (or during) are far and few between because of the complexity in learning the respective new system in a short period of time.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb, a
native Chicagoan, would seriously consider donning a Bears uniform if
the opportunity presented itself down the road according to ProFootballWeekly.
McNabb has had an uneven relationship with the Eagles, and it was
further complicated by the team’s 2nd round selection of QB Kevin Kolb in the 2007 draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles are considering trading QB Kelly Holcomb to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2008 late-round pick, likely a sixth- or seventh-rounder according to PFW. Vikings HC Brad Childress,
who is still friendly with his former Eagles co-workers, is keeping one
eye open for veteran quarterbacks and possibly would be interested in
Holcomb’s services.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano analyzed all 32 NFL team's Quarterback position for fantasy production. He didn't go into as much detail as some may like but for the majority (AKA no keeper leagues) of fantasy leaguers it'll be a good overview by team.

The Philadelphia Eagles official website reports QB Donovan McNabb
(knee) practiced on Monday, looked really good doing so, lifted
everybody's spirits another notch or two and took another crucial step
back on his road to a full recovery from his surgery of last season.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano is publishing overviews of each
division by team of their fantasy value including schedule strength
(against run & pass) and listing of each team's top 5 fantasy
performers. I've listed the top 5 for each team below and the overall
summaries are good. Some of this is academic but for fantasy nuts, its
worth diving into the details. This is for the NFC East.

ESPN reports TE L.J. Smith
will not participate in the team's Organized Training Activities (June
5-14) after undergoing successful surgery to repair a sports hernia
Wednesday. The surgery was performed on the 6-foot-3, 258-pound Smith
by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia. Smith's status will be
evaluated over the next several weeks to determine whether he will be
ready to practice at the start of training camp. Veterans are scheduled
to report to training camp on July 30.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports the first thing you notice, watching TE Brent Celek and TE Lee Vickers
at the Eagles' current rookie mini-camp, is that while both seem able
to catch the ball, neither possesses the lithe athleticism of TE L.J. Smith. In other minicamp news, WR Jeremy Bloom, the former Olympic skier
who sat out last season on injured reserve, seems to be standing out. Bloom, nagged by injuries last year
after being drafted in the fifth round, is showing good hands and crisp
pattern-running.

I had to post this b/c its so far out there that I wanted to point out how crazy it truly is. The article appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer this past week proposing that since the Eagles drafted a QB in the 2nd round, Kevin Kolb, they likely could deal Donovan McNabb prior to the start of the 2007 season. Their theory was that Chicago could trade disgruntled LB Lance Briggs for QB Donovan McNabb.

The Delco Times reports Philadelphia Eagles free agent signee WR Kevin Curtis is the team's new consensus No. 1 receiver in the wake of the departure of WR Donte Stallworth. Curtis has get-deep speed, solid hands and a lot to prove after operating in the shadows of superstars WR Torry Holt and WR Isaac Bruce in St. Louis.

The Trenton Times & ESPN have separately reported that Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb could be on his way out of Phily after this season. Partly as a result of him being due to make $5.5 million this season, $6.3 million in 2008, $9.2
million in 2009 and then a balloon payment of $10 million during the
final year of his contract in 2010. But also as a result of him turning 31 in November and entering an age that the Eagles have shown the door to other veteran players in the Andy Reid era.

Philadelphia Eagles selected Penn State RB Tony Hunt with the #90
overall selection (#27 in the 3rd round) in the 2007 NFL draft. Hunt is one of the most productive backs in Penn State history, an accomplishment when you consider how many great college backs the school has produced. A straight line runner with good athleticism, size and versatility, Hunt may lack the speed and shiftiness to be a featured back. But he is a good complement to the Eagles Brian Westbrook.

Philadelphia Eagles selected Houston QB Kevin Kolb with the #36
overall selection (#4 of the 2nd round) in the 2007 NFL draft. Kolb was one of the fastest movers in the week's leading up to the draft, he's a system quarterback who many feel will be a good west coast system guy. Philadelphia clearly wanted to develop a better contingency plan for injury prone Donovan McNabb who will be 30 years old next year and isn't getting any younger.

The Philadelphia Eagles official website and ESPN are reporting
after entertaining conversations with running backs from other teams,
including a visit from a free-agent veteran, the Eagles have decided
that their own player best fits the job description. The team has
agreed to terms on a two-year contract with RB Correll Buckhalter.

NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports the Philadelphia Eagles have reached an agreement with former St. Louis free agent WR Kevin Curtis
on a six-year, $32 million deal that includes $9.5 million in
guaranteed money. The Titans and Vikings made strong pushes for Curtis
at the end, but he opted for the Eagles. "Kevin's a guy that we've liked all along," Eagles general manager Tom
Heckert said. "He's got great speed and run-after-the-catch ability.
Kevin's a calm, smart guy that just goes out and plays football. He
definitely brings tremendous speed to our team."

ESPN's Michael Smith & Len Pasquarelli reports the New England Patriots have agreed to sign free-agent WR Donte Stallworth. The deal, negotiated by agent Drew Rosenhaus,
can be as brief as one season or as lengthy as six. However for the
Patriots to retain Stallworth beyond the 2007 season, a year in which
he will make $3.6 million in bonuses and salary, New England will have
to make a significant investment.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was carted off the field in today's game versus Tennessee in the second quarter. McNabb was slightly bumped out of bounds while running to his right and landed awkwardly. ESPN and the AP are reporting McNabb is done for the year with a torn ACL. You can call it a season for the Eagles and many fantasy owners out there who had gotten use to McNabb's super stud performances this season.

Observations from NFL Week 10 Morning games.
Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-17 -
- QB B. Favre - he put up a strong effort against a tough defense with 2 td's & 330+ yards.
- WR D. Driver had (or was close to) a career day w/ 190+ yards receiving & a 82 yard TD
- RB A. Green didn't do much against the NFL's top run defense rushing for 55 yards on 22 carries
- QB B. Johnson had a better day coming off back to back poor performances, throwing for 257 yards & a 40 yard TD pass. However he did throw a pick and lost a fumble continuing a trend that will likely result in Brad Childress making a switch in the next week or two.
- RB Chester Taylor had a workmanlike 75 yards on the ground and 20 yard receiving but didn't score.
- Minnesota WR's again were inconsistent w/ newcomers Bethel Johnson w/ 75 yards & Billy McMullen surprising with 60 yards & a TD (40)
