Forty eight hours later, I'm still in a state of disbelief over the 42nd Super Bowl. The New York Giants were the better team and deserved to win but the Patriots had been up until February 3rd, arguably the greatest NFL team of all-time. That's hard for me to write as a die-hard San Francisco 49'ers fan who could make an argument that the '84, '89 and '94 squads have to be in consideration but no team had ripped apart their NFL schedule as convincingly as the Patriots did this season.

Another good fantasy related post from our friends at SportProjections.com, this one is the starting NFL QB's who are likely feeling the most pressure to perform in 2007. Funny how Rex Grossman finds himself on every one of these lists, but then again he deserves it for having the most lopsided performances in a single NFL season of all-time.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano analyzed all 32 NFL team's Quarterback position for fantasy production. He didn't go into as much detail as some may like but for the majority (AKA no keeper leagues) of fantasy leaguers it'll be a good overview by team.

ESPN's Seth Joyner published an analysis of NFL tight ends (subscription required), looking at their effectiveness by rating them by yards per attempt. The most underrated Tight End, relative to the starters, was Jeremy Shockey who only had a 4.7 YPA. Relative to the other pro bowl TE's in 2006 in the NFC, this was abysmal, Jason Whitten & Alge Crumpler each had an over 8 YPA.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano is publishing overviews of each
division by team of their fantasy value including schedule strength
(against run & pass) and listing of each team's top 5 fantasy
performers. I've listed the top 5 for each team below and the overall
summaries are good. Some of this is academic but for fantasy nuts, its
worth diving into the details. This is for the NFC East.

New York Giants selected USC WR Steve Smith with the #51
overall selection (#19 in the 2nd round) in the 2007 NFL draft.
Smith has a nice combo of speed and consistency to be
a quality NFL starter and could possibly start this year opposite Plaxico Burress.

ESPN & NFL Network are reporting that the New York Giants have opted to go the trade route to add a running back to complement RB Brandon Jacobs. The Giants and Browns have finalized details of a trade that would send WR Tim Carter to Cleveland and bring Big Blue back RB Reuben Droughns. Giants GM Jerry Reese confirmed to TGI that the trade was “done, pending physicals.”

The NY Giants new GM, Jerry Reese, said that though the organization likes Brandon Jacobs as a lead back, ideally, he would carry the
ball no more than 20 times and that another back might get 15 to 20 carries in a
hypothetical division of labor. To that end the Giants entertained FA RB Dominic Rhodes over the weekend and reportedly has had discussions with the Buffalo Bills for Willis McGahee.
