Post Week 2 Sunday Thoughts...

Below are some random thoughts following week 2 (sans MNF game).  It's been an incredible aerial attack to kick off the 2011 NFL season, I can't imagine this pace will continue. 

Revised Fantasy Football Rookie Predictions

With the PAFFL auction less than a month out (and hopefully the NFL lock out coming to an end shortly), I wanted to post a revised prediction on rookie picks for 2011.  

2011 Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings

I love the NFL draft because it creates some clarity for team depth charts and most importantly brings new talent into the league.  This year, thanks to the lockout, the draft takes on more importance than any other over the past 24 years I've been following the draft, because there's been no free agency or trades, thus resulting in NFL teams applying need based selections more than I can remember in past drafts.  

Falcons come up short

The Atlanta Falcons came up short in fantasy land tonight. Michael Turner did nothing, Matt Ryan didn't break 150 yards while Roddy White salvaged a meager yardage nite with a short TD catch.

I wonder how many fantasy football participants were screwed by an uninspired performance by them?

Drew Brees for a bunch of random stuff...

The biggest of the PAFFL trade deadline deals was consummated this past weekend.  

Sidney Rice for Roy Williams & Zach Miller

A relatively big playoff move trade was completed early by the Naughty Thoughts, and BINGO has officially thrown in the towel with this deal.  

Steven Jackson for Bernard Scott, Jerome Harrison, Devery Henderson & Davone Bess

The Fightin' Irie were busy this morning, completing two separate deals, one a minor money deal, the other a pretty major blockbuster that in my opinion changes the balance of power a bit for '10 but puts Irie in a nice position for '11 if Scott and/or Harrison develop.

Derek Anderson & Sebastian Janikowski for Devin Thomas & Garrett Hartley

The South Whore Jibbers send WR Devin Thomas (signed for $8 in the auction this year) and K Garrett Hartley to Team Kitty for QB Derek Anderson ($18 '11) and K Sebastian Janikowski ($1, '11).

Plenty of Stud PAFFL QB's Available in '10

Unlike what we witnessed in '09 where there were essentially only 2 of the top 15 fantasy quarterbacks open and available at this year's annual auction (Tom Brady & Peyton Manning), due to expiring contracts, this next year's auction will see approximately 8 of the top 15 open.
