The Fightin' Irie trades $1 this year and WR Devery Henderson ($3, '11) to Firkin Crawlers for TE Jeremy Shockey and K Adam Vinatieri.

PAFFL League Thoughts...

First let me say that its two weeks in, while the results are important there's a LOT more football to be played and certain studs & duds won't keep up their paces, resulting in a regression to the mean, and results ultimately closer inline with the projections prior to launch.   

Post Week 2 Sunday Thoughts...

Below are some random thoughts following week 2 (sans MNF game).  It's been an incredible aerial attack to kick off the 2011 NFL season, I can't imagine this pace will continue. 

Peyton Manning for cash

This is the quintessential PAFFL fantasy football deal.  In no other virtual or real football world would this deal make sense, at least until maybe Peyton Manning's retired.

Revised Fantasy Football Rookie Predictions

With the PAFFL auction less than a month out (and hopefully the NFL lock out coming to an end shortly), I wanted to post a revised prediction on rookie picks for 2011.

I love the NFL draft because it creates some clarity for team depth charts and most importantly brings new talent into the league.  This year, thanks to the lockout, the draft takes on more importance than any other over the past 24 years I've been following the draft, because there's been no free agency or trades, thus resulting in NFL teams applying need based selections more than I can remember in past drafts.  

Is QB the most important fantasy football position?

2010 represents the eigth consecutive season that Peyton Manning has been on one of the Jankster Cup (the PAFFL's Super Bowl matchup, played every year in NFL week 16) starting QB's, in essence leading his squad to the promise land.   Which got me to thinking how important the QB position is relative to RB or WR and hos remarkable Peyton Manning's consistency has been over the past decade, not just for fantasy footballers but the NFL in general.  

Peyton Manning for Big Ben & stuff...

The names don't get much bigger, no way this type of deal goes down in the real world given Ben Roethlisberger's current legal & image problems but its a fun one to contemplate in fantasy land.
