Travis Henry is the new Shawn Kemp

Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry, the NFL version of Team Kitty's GM, fathered a boy out of wedlock three years ago. While this in itself is not too disturbing, the fact that this is the NINTH TIME Henry has fathered a child out of wedlock rings some alarms. It's also worth nothing that there are nine different mothers; Travis Henry doesn't stick around.

NFL QB Team by Team Analysis

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano analyzed all 32 NFL team's Quarterback position for fantasy production.  He didn't go into as much detail as some may like but for the majority (AKA no keeper leagues) of fantasy leaguers it'll be a good overview by team.

NFL.com's AFC West Team's Fantasy Overview...

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano is publishing overviews of each division by team of their fantasy value including schedule strength (against run & pass) and listing of each team's top 5 fantasy performers.  I've listed the top 5 for each team below and the overall summaries are good.  Some of this is academic but for fantasy nuts, its worth diving into the details.  This is for the AFC West

David Terrell resigns with Denver

AP reports the Denver Broncos signed free agent WR David Terrell to a one-year contract Thursday.  Terrell, the former 7th overall selection by the Chicago Bears in the 1999 draft, was out of football last season after being released by Denver in training camp.

Patrick Ramsey Signs with Denver

ESPN reported that free agent QB Patrick Ramsey has signed a 2 year deal for $5 million with $1.5 million in guarantees with the Denver Broncos to be 2nd year QB Jay Cutler's backup.  Washington's first round selection in the 2002 draft, Ramsey never developed into the future franchise quarterback.

Daniel Graham - Highest Paid TE in the NFL

NFL.com and ESPN are reporting the Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with TE Daniel Graham on a five-year, $30 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed. The deal makes Graham the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.  Graham was heavily pursued by the Seattle Seahawks as well but ultimately the opportunity to go home & the guaranteed dollars the Broncos offered him were too great.  Graham's father played for the team in the 70's, he grew up in Denver and attended the University of Colorado.

'Big Daddy' Wilkinson acquired by Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos, who have made a habit in recent years of trading for one-time high-round defensive linemen,  acquired defensive tackle Dan "Big Daddy" Wilkinson from the Miami Dolphins for a sixth round selection in the 2007 NFL draft.

Jake Plummer to Retire?

Is QB Jake Plummer really retiring or is he bluffing to regain control of his NFL career?  I don't think there is any question that he's posturing to control his own destiny.  Plummer is only 32 years old and still in the ladder prime of his career.

Bucs complete trade for vet QB Jake Plummer

AP reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free-agent QB Jeff Garcia and potentially nabbed even more competition for incumbent starter QB Chris Simms by obtaining the rights to QB Jake Plummer from Denver on Saturday. Garcia, a three-time Pro Bowl selection who nearly signed with the Bucs as a free agent three years ago, agreed to a two-year deal that hopes will give him a chance to finally get to the Super Bowl. A championship is missing from Plummer's resume, too, but its unclear if it remains a personal goal. Tampa Bay GM Bruce Allen acknowledged the Bucs traded an undisclosed pick in the 2008 draft even though they were aware that Plummer is considering retirement after losing his starting job with the Broncos last season. Allen said he expects Plummer to play again, but would not speculate on whether it would be with Tampa Bay. Allen also said the Bucs did not acquire the quarterback's rights with the idea of trading him.

Jake Plummer Retiring to avoid trade to Bucs

NFL Network's Adam Schefter has learned Denver Broncos QB Jake Plummer is expected to announce his retirement. Earlier today, it had been reported that the Broncos agreed to terms on a trade that would send Plummer to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. That trade is expected to be nullified due to Plummer's decision to retire. Plummer has played 10 seasons in the NFL.  Plummer apparently does not want to play in Tamba, thus he chose to immediately retire.

Lions Pick up RB Tatum Bell in trade with Broncos

ESPN's Michael Smith reports the Detroit Lions have agreed to send CB Dre' Bly to the Denver Broncos in exchange for RB Tatum Bell, OT George Foster and a draft choice, believed to be a fifth-round pick. Trades cannot become official until Friday, the first day of the league year.  Bell provides the Lions a nice combo package with Kevin Jones (as well as insurance against Jones' rehab).  It reduces Kevin Jones' fantasy value a little and opens up a huge hole in Denver, which quickly becomes one of the more intriguing off-season fantasy stories.

Broncos RB Damien Nash Dies Suddenly...

The Denver Broncos have lost reserve RB Damien Nash to a sudden death last night following Nash's charity basketball game.  This is the 2nd death the Broncos have faced this offseason, they also lost second year CB Darrent Williams in early January to a errand gun shot following a night out in Denver.  Nash was a 5th round draft choice of the Tennessee Titans in 2005 and signed with Denver this past season.

Darrent Willams Shot & Killed!

Denver Broncos second year cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed by a drive by shooter late Monday morning after attending a birthday party for Denver Nuggets Kenyon Martin.  This is a huge loss for the NFL, for the Williams family and the Broncos.  While the fantasy impact is minimal (Williams was a big contributor to the Denver defense & special teams) its a tragic loss nonetheless.

Tatum Bell to start Sunday for the Broncos

The Denver Post is reporting that RB Tatum Bell will start Sunday and backup RB Mike Bell maybe inactive.  The Broncos activated RB Damian Nash from the practice squad and would likely take Mike Bell's spot on the active roster.
Fantasy owners should move Tatum Bell up the rankings, he's good for a top 15 spot this week with the Broncos playing the Raiders.  Oakland is more stout against the run than they've displayed but Bell should find room.

Broncos Starting RB...

Once again the Denver Broncos are throwing fantasy leaguers a curveball with undrafted rookie running back, Mike Bell, atop the depth chart for week one of the fantasy season.  However as usual Mike Shannahan hasn't committed to Mike Bell so you Tatum Bell fans (Fantasy Index anybody?) can breathe because he will be part of the rotation.  How that rotation will fall out is the key question.
It maybe the most well reported fantasy story of the preseason and its still unresolved.

I believe Mike Bell will be the primary ballcarrier and finish the year with 1200+ total yards and 8 TD's.  Tatum Bell will fall a little to around 900 total yards and 7 TD's and Cedric Cobbs (or a still unknown back) who come out of nowhere to put up another 500 yards and 3 TD's.

Broncos RB's: What to believe?

The Denver Broncos are making waves by announcing today that undrafted rookie RB Mike Bell will start their first preseason game this week vs. Detroit.  While this is certainly interesting, particularly since the Broncos are by far the most running back friendly team & system in the NFL regularly churning out 1,000 yard backs out of unknown commodities, the truth is more likely that coach Mike Shannahan is trying to motivate Tatum Bell & Ron Dayne.  According to multiple sources, the coaching staff has been impressed with Bell's committment this offseason and most reports are saying he's in line for a bigger role this year.
