With the news that the Denver Broncos have fired head coach Josh McDaniels after only 28 games (10-18) on the job, it got me thinking about how short a timeframe coaches have to succeed nowadays.

All NFL teams have started camp (or will have by the end of today), with most NFL rosters nearly final (sans injury replacements), its time to look at the top rookies for the dynasty/keeper, deep league of the PAFFL. Remember these are NOT necessarily the rookies who will put up the best numbers in 2010 but over the next two to four years will be the most valuable. Also the $ amount refers to a 16 team league with $500 yearly salary cap with the projected selecting PAFFL team.

It's a quick look as the NFL Draft's first day starts to wind down on who the top fantasy rookies will be, specifically for the PAFFL (where long-term success is just as important as short term). I'll update this as the 3rd round is completed but at this point here are the top guys based on talent & situation.

I think this ESPN article says it all, how can a sub par NFL quarterback (one who took over a perennial playoff contender) who has failed to lead his team to the playoffs (in an easy division), compiled a 17-20 overall record (and was more than 30 games under .500 during his college career) in two+ years starting complain about his name being mentioned in hypothetical trades?
