The 2007 regular season is finalized and its time to recognize the studs that made this regular season sizzle and led to the Ron Jeremy Fanclub being the leading PAFFL team throughout the regular season. You'll notice some trends as QB-WR tandems in New England & Dallas have exploded this year to dominant their respective positions unlike any other tandems in NFL history.

Here are the week 3 top free agent / waiver wire pickups. In my fantasy league we have 16 teams which start 9 guys each (no defense, 1 Kicker, 1 TE, 2 RB, 2 WR & 1 QB with 2 flex spots). So these may not be relevant to all fantasy leaguers but most are valuable guys who either will immediately have value or will in weeks ahead.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano analyzed all 32 NFL team's Quarterback position for fantasy production. He didn't go into as much detail as some may like but for the majority (AKA no keeper leagues) of fantasy leaguers it'll be a good overview by team.

The Plain Dealer and ESPN report despite being told he'd never play football again, Browns C LeCharles Bentley
said this week he'll try to make a comeback this season. "I've been
fortunate enough to have worked myself into a position to even think
about playing football again," Bentley said. "In spite of some major
hurdles, I've been truly blessed all along the way to the point where I
might possibly play this year."

The Plain Dealer reports Browns second-year RB Jerome Harrison
added about 17 pounds of lower-body muscle and now weighs about 212.
The 5-9 running back will need the added weight to carry expectations
this season. "Internally, we're counting on RB Jerome Harrison," GM Phil Savage
said this week.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Cleveland Browns, despite trading up to make QB Brady Quinn
their second first-round pick, don't really want the rookie quarterback
playing early in his rookie season. Browns coaches would like to see QB Charlie Frye
maintain the job. Cleveland might not have all the say in the Quinn
situation. Browns insiders say there's a good chance agent Tom Condon
will hold out Quinn once training camp starts.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano is publishing overviews of each
division by team of their fantasy value including schedule strength
(against run & pass) and listing of each team's top 5 fantasy
performers. I've listed the top 5 for each team below and the overall
summaries are good. Some of this is academic but for fantasy nuts, its
worth diving into the details. This is for the AFC North.

The NYTimes wrote a nice piece on the 'hard sell' Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis put on the Cleveland Browns GM Phil Savage and their head coach Romeo Crennel for QB Brady Quinn. All three worked together for much of the past two decades and remain close friends. The article does a good job of reporting Weis' belief in Quinn's ability to 'take a team on his shoulders' and the work ethic to be one of the top QB's in the NFL.

Cleveland Browns have selected Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn with the #22
overall selection in the 2007 NFL draft. Quinn was expected to be a top 10 pick, so this is great value for the Browns. Quinn has shown the moxie, leadership and physical skills to be a solid starting QB in the NFL for years to come. Unlike JaMarcus Russell, Quinn has a much higher floor but nowhere near the same potential.

The Canton Repository reports an Internet story that says Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow
possibly sitting out the 2007 season — he had recent knee surgery — got
Cleveland fans buzzing last week. “The procedure was done to help him
be better this year than he was last year,” GM Phil Savage
said. “Toward the end of the year, he did struggle some from that knee.
We feel like he’ll be back. He’s been around the building. He should be
good to go in June or July. There’s never been any talk about (Winslow
missing 2007) that I’m aware of. We’ve never even given a second
thought he wouldn’t be back with us for this next season.”

The Cleveland Browns named Rob Chudzinski as their next offensive coordinator, taking over for the previously departed Maurice Carthon. Chudzinski has been San Diego's tight ends coach the past two seasons after working in Cleveland in a similar capacity in 2004 and previous to that as the University of Miami's offensive coordinator. The 38 year old Toledo Ohio native is said to be a disciplined coach who will open up the offense and get more players involved.
