The first trade of the 2008 PAFFL season was consummated earlier this year between two of the league's most active traders, Team Kitty and the PA Short Bus.
Team Kitty acquired QB's Rex Grossman ($55, 2009) & Kyle Orton ($11, 2007) and the rights to WR Chad Johnson ($55, 2007) from the Short Bus for WR Larry Fitzgerald ($53, 2009)

The rich get richer in fantasy leagues when they know how to snag a player on the heels of some (or a lot) of bad news. In an educated league like ours, swooping in at the right time can be highly profitable.

The 2001 NFL draft brought some of the biggest stars to the league but surprisingly some of them were after the coveted first round. LaDainian Tomlinson (#5 Overall) is far and away the prize of this draft but folks like Chad Johnson (2nd round), Steve Smith (3rd round) and TJ Houshmandzadeh (7th Round). The full list is below and analysis can be found here at FBKids blog.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano analyzed all 32 NFL team's Quarterback position for fantasy production. He didn't go into as much detail as some may like but for the majority (AKA no keeper leagues) of fantasy leaguers it'll be a good overview by team.

The Cincinnati Bengals official website reports HC Marvin Lewis said RB Chris Perry
is looking at starting his second straight season on the physically
unable to perform list (PUP) and missing the first five games and six
weeks of the regular season. Perry, also has his foot in a boot and "is
in a non-weight bearing deal," Lewis said. The Cincinnati Enquirer wrote yesterday that during the time Perry missed last season, the Bengals held a 3 minute disadvantage in time of possession and that Perry won't be back until late October at earliest.

NFL.com's Michael Fabiano is publishing overviews of each
division by team of their fantasy value including schedule strength
(against run & pass) and listing of each team's top 5 fantasy
performers. I've listed the top 5 for each team below and the overall
summaries are good. Some of this is academic but for fantasy nuts, its
worth diving into the details. This is for the AFC North.

ESPN reports suspended Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry failed a court-ordered drug test and will have to serve 88 days in jail. Kenton County (Kentucky) Attorney Garry Edmondson
said that Henry tested positive for opiates and he will be forced to
serve jail time. Henry's failed drug test was first reported by WKRC-TV
in Cincinnati. Henry is on probation in Florida. It's unclear whether
the reported drug test results will force him to serve jail time there.
The Bengals told ESPN's Bob Holtzman that they expect to release a statement regarding Henry later Monday.

Cincinnati Bengals selected Auburn RB Kenny Irons with the #49
overall selection (#17 in the 2nd round) in the 2007 NFL draft. Irons lacks size but he brings a quickness and versatility to the Bengals backfield to complement the size & strength of starting RB Rudi Johnson. This selection speaks volumes about how much the Bengals brass feels Chris Perry can contribute to the team in 2007 and beyond.

Tennessee Titans CB Adam 'Pacman' Jones & Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry were suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for the entire 2007 season and 8 games respectively. They are two of the largest suspensions in NFL history for off the field violations and will send shock waves thru the league. In particular it will put an additional level of scrutiny on this year's NFL draftees.

ESPN's Len Pasquarelli reports the New England Patriots on Monday reached a contract agreement with unrestricted free agent WR Kelley Washington,
who played the first four seasons of his career with the Cincinnati
Bengals. The deal can be for as many as five years, with a maximum
value of $22 million, but is also structured so that it could be as
short as just one season. Washington will receive a signing bonus of
$300,000.

ESPN's Len Pasquarelli reports eight-year veteran TE Reggie Kelly,
considered by most to be the second-best tight end available in the
unrestricted market, on Tuesday night agreed to return to the
Cincinnati Bengals. Kelly will sign a three-year, $9 million contract
and, in so doing, he eschewed formal offers from at least three other
franchises.

Observations from NFL Week 10 Morning games.
Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-17 -
- QB B. Favre - he put up a strong effort against a tough defense with 2 td's & 330+ yards.
- WR D. Driver had (or was close to) a career day w/ 190+ yards receiving & a 82 yard TD
- RB A. Green didn't do much against the NFL's top run defense rushing for 55 yards on 22 carries
- QB B. Johnson had a better day coming off back to back poor performances, throwing for 257 yards & a 40 yard TD pass. However he did throw a pick and lost a fumble continuing a trend that will likely result in Brad Childress making a switch in the next week or two.
- RB Chester Taylor had a workmanlike 75 yards on the ground and 20 yard receiving but didn't score.
- Minnesota WR's again were inconsistent w/ newcomers Bethel Johnson w/ 75 yards & Billy McMullen surprising with 60 yards & a TD (40)

An owner in my fantasy football league (auction style, long term contracts) who has Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry under contract for the next two years (albeit at the reasonable price of $5) wrote what I found to be a hilarious summary of what any fantasy football owner or Bengal fan must be feeling about this point.
What's astonishing to me is that Chris Henry has been arrested 4 times in the past seven months yet he hasn't been suspended for the upcoming NFL season. However Ricky Williams smokes a little weed and is suspended for a year and a quarter (2006 season and 4 games in '05). Or how about Terrell Owens who didn't smoke dope or get arrested. Then again its probably only a matter of days before the NFL drops the hammer on Chris Henry and treats him like the Lawrence Phillips he's so desperately trying to portray.
