Revised Fantasy Football Rookie Predictions

With the PAFFL auction less than a month out (and hopefully the NFL lock out coming to an end shortly), I wanted to post a revised prediction on rookie picks for 2011.  

2011 Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings

I love the NFL draft because it creates some clarity for team depth charts and most importantly brings new talent into the league.  This year, thanks to the lockout, the draft takes on more importance than any other over the past 24 years I've been following the draft, because there's been no free agency or trades, thus resulting in NFL teams applying need based selections more than I can remember in past drafts.  

Falcons come up short

The Atlanta Falcons came up short in fantasy land tonight. Michael Turner did nothing, Matt Ryan didn't break 150 yards while Roddy White salvaged a meager yardage nite with a short TD catch.

I wonder how many fantasy football participants were screwed by an uninspired performance by them?

Tom Brady, Michael Turner for Matt Sanchez, Ryan Mathews and more...

This is the blockbuster deal we all were looking for, and is a direct counter to what Fuego did last weekend to pick up Drew Brees.  

Roster Deadline Deals

There were a half dozen or so deals done at the final roster cutdown date.  Lots of small deals, nothing spectacular...in fact not a single projected NFL starter (outside of the kicker) were exchanged in the final two days leading up to the roster cutdown.

The South Whore Jibbers send RB Jason Snelling to the Fightin' Irie for $3 of 2011 cash.

Braylon Edwards & stuff for Roddy White

The Strongfighters and Firkin Fan Club completed a deal for big name wide receivers heading in different directions.  

Eddie Royal for Jason Snelling & Devin Hester for $1

There have been two small trades this past week that could be meaningful come July. 

Carson Palmer, Antonio Gates, Brandon Jacobs for Tony Gonzales, Darren Sproles, Matt Hasselbeck & Nate Davis: Fantasy Football Trade

In arguably the biggest deal of the 2009 PAFFL season, Fuego and The Beavercats exchanged a lot of big names. 

Ben Roethlisberger & stuff for Eli Manning & stuff: Fantasy Football Trade

Huge fantasy football deal in the PAFFL this past week between the Fightin' Irie and Firkin Crawlers.  This is a major deal that could have a big impact down the stretch.
