Revised Fantasy Football Rookie Predictions

With the PAFFL auction less than a month out (and hopefully the NFL lock out coming to an end shortly), I wanted to post a revised prediction on rookie picks for 2011.

I love the NFL draft because it creates some clarity for team depth charts and most importantly brings new talent into the league.  This year, thanks to the lockout, the draft takes on more importance than any other over the past 24 years I've been following the draft, because there's been no free agency or trades, thus resulting in NFL teams applying need based selections more than I can remember in past drafts.  

Matt Leinart released; undrafted free agent QB Max Hall 'Zona's "best QB"

First the news that former heisman trophy winner, the 10th overall pick in the '06 draft, Matt Leinart, had been released, then the Arizona Cardinals head coach, Ken Whisenhunt, states that undrafted free agent, Max Hall, had been the best QB in camp and would enter the year as the primary backup to Derek Anderson.  

Charles Scott for Chris Simms and $

Interesting deal a week before the roster cutdown date (actually its a week from tomorrow, September 7th).

Derek Anderson & Sebastian Janikowski for Devin Thomas & Garrett Hartley

The South Whore Jibbers send WR Devin Thomas (signed for $8 in the auction this year) and K Garrett Hartley to Team Kitty for QB Derek Anderson ($18 '11) and K Sebastian Janikowski ($1, '11).

Matt Leinart for Sidney Rice + 14th pick

South Whore Jibbers acquires the rights to QB Matt Leinart ($55, '09) from Naughty Thoughts for WR Sidney Rice ($9, '10) and the 14th pick in the 2010 rookie draft and 1 DS spot in 2010.

Jason Campbell for Anquan Boldin - Fantasy Football Trade

It's a quick look as the NFL Draft's first day starts to wind down on who the top fantasy rookies will be, specifically for the PAFFL (where long-term success is just as important as short term).  I'll update this as the 3rd round is completed but at this point here are the top guys based on talent & situation.
