The PAFFL is twenty years old and has seen more than two dozen former members in its history, so change in membership composition isn't new, however it may seem as such given that we've gone through the most stable decade in its history. It's my belief that we need to agree on a process to take us into the future and get a jump on the immediate opportunity to add two new franchise owners this year.
The new owner process I propose is straight forward and generally has been followed in the past, but not to this level of strictness. My recommendation (which I hope we can adapt/iterate on, so very open to criticism and/or feedback) is that any prospective owner has to be: Nominated by an existing owner by being listed on a paffl league body communication thread (such as message board and/or email), such nomination must be agreed on by a minimum of two (2) additional owners in the form of a "yes" response to said nomination before its considered official. Following a minimum of seven (7) days of open, constructive discussion and nominations by the league following all calls for additional nomin; an open vote on new owners will take place. Every existing franchise will have one vote per open franchise slot; the nomination with the most votes will get the vacant franchise spot. In addition, when there is more than one franchise opening in the same off-season, the assets of both franchises should be allocated to a draft with each of the new owners participating to select every last asset (even the undesired ones).
Which brings me to the ideas for new candidates. I won't specifically list names but I prefer us to focus on people who have strong ties to a minimum of two existing owners, though the more the better; folks with good, friendly personalities who we can see hanging out with, who bring something to the table. I have some ideas for new members, of which I'll post to our internal message board.
Thoughts/ideas?
We're getting old. It's time to regress our thinking a bit, think more like 18-yr olds, and add in some measurables. You know, SAT scores, 40 times, tincture intake, ability to pull chicks, etc. Or taking a different tact, start thinking like coug, does he have a vacation home in France ... errr ... Tahoe, drive a fast car, etc. Whether we like the guy is irrelevant, with these qualities ... ahem... how could we not?

I think the hardest part will be the gathering of minds to make decisions at this point.

that's my virtual tools (aka email) make gathering of minds irrelevant :)

I've found that sometimes you need to meet in person and gather consensus to truly be productive.

Good luck on that...can't wait until auction to decide on new owners.
As for draft of assets, we'll schedule a time to meet in person (spring meetings?) to hold it, like we did at the Goose in '98 w/ Vic, Trev, Johnny G, etc.
