The PAFFL is twenty years old and has seen more than two dozen former members in its history, so change in membership composition isn't new, however it may seem as such given that we've gone through the most stable decade in its history. It's my belief that we need to agree on a process to take us into the future and get a jump on the immediate opportunity to add two new franchise owners this year.
Chip Kelly was and will continue the rest of this off-season to be the hot coaching hire, pundits will debate for the next year whether his season will translate to the NFL. People are already comparing him to past college to pro failures like Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban, and most media types seem to be cautious to downright hostile in their predictions for him on the next level. So the question is, will he be successful?
Who is the better (fantasy) franchise quarterback, Robert Griffin III or Cam Newton. This is, or at least should be, a hot topic of discussion but unfortunately the national media has fallen in love with the new new thing, RG3 and annointed him the great savior. However by the most important measures, sustained success and production, Cam Newtwon is at or above RG3 in both those categories, making him the better quarterback.
I use to write a version of the best paffl contracts series every year, in fact I'd do it every 4 or so weeks back in the days before I had an infant, responsibilities and could spend ALL my time thinking about sports, and in particular fantasy football. Nowadays I get to watch the games on Sundays but that's the end of it, I'm all in during the week.
The PAFFL is more than twenty-five years old, and in its silver anniversary year, the PA Short Bus took the Jankster Cup, its third title (and second in 4 years) in its history.
