To every member of the PAFFL, it was an amazing 2011.

Personally it began with low expectations for the BeaverCats (if I hadn't dealt Grossman/Beck I probably would have DS'd Cam Newton) but thanks to some fortune from the auction (Can you say Camlicious! but also Tolbert played like a $55 player, Steve Smith was huge and Carson Palmer was steady and gave me the ability to dish Cassel for Miles Austin at the trade deadline) and many teams abandoning their squads early (making the playoff road slightly easier, even in the NFC where IMT dealt Brandon Jacobs) made the Jankster Cup run possible. 

I also want to call out and thank my amazing wife, who not only allows me to watch football nearly uninterrupted every Sunday, she's also contributed to the strategy that led to this recent surge of excellence (4 straight conference title games, 3 Jankster Cup appearances and 2 titles over the past four years).  It was her advice to stop always only thinking about the future but to balance it out, and to play for each season as well, which led me to make a deal for Peyton Manning in '08, Carson Palmer & Antonio Gates in '09 and keep Cam Newton on the active roster in '11.  So she deserves much credit, she's my secret weapon :)

I judge each year by how my fantasy and real teams play, its been a LONG time since the 49'ers have been good and essentially never since Stanford was relevant in football, so 2011 will go down as one of the most memorable for all Bay Area locals.  Maybe even our dubs can make a playoff run this year!  
I'm looking forward to the NFL playoffs and then the 2012 season, which promises to give us a bunch more great young prospects (Luck, T. Richardson, L. Jones, RGIII, Lamar Miller, David Wilson among many others) and the maturation of existing NFL talent).
