One of the traditions that has cropped up in the PAFFL as we've all matured into our 30's (and beyond for some :) is the post matchup note. Normally I wouldn't post these b/c they are fairly traditional and formulaic (I know mine are at least) but I personally liked the Naughty Thoughts message and wanted everybody to see if (and to preserve it for posterity sake).
Here it is:
Naughty wishes to congratulate FFC on a remarkable run at the cup propelled by a brilliant move acquiring Brady and Turner right before the deadline (as well as cutting bait on Dirty Sanchez). The two headed monster of Firkin Fanclub is going to be a force for years to come. In addition, Naughty would like to recognize the perennially strong Short Bus and perhaps the next great dynasty, East Bay Funk, for incredible seasons. Any of these teams could have, and perhaps should be, standing in the winner's circle. Finally, a shout out to Team Kitty for it's spectacular turnaround from dumpster diving to caviar (as well as his continued devotion to texting blogging, tweating, chirping, posting and for his elephant mind stat machine). We are happy to hand over the reins to TK as they are now the longest tenured franchise without a cup victory.
As for Naughty Thoughts, this was a year of expectations and with big injuries to Sidney Rice, Pierre Thomas and Dallas Clark, we weren't sure we could live up to the hype. There were sleepless nights. Tears shed. Couch cushions thrown. Kids and family neglected. All nighters analyzing match-ups. Jays and cigarettes for dinner. Identity crises. Big bar tabs reliving three previous cup losses. Heartburn. Mylanta. Lots of porn... including fat chicks. Trips to the liquor store in the middle of the night. Walking the streets of EPA looking for a score. But in the end we found our way. Not as the powerhouse that some thought we would be, but as the short fat ugly kid with bbq sauce on his wife beater shirt toting the number seven spot in the power rankings. This turned out to be a Wayne Chrebet-inspired team and if anyone thinks I'm not starting the bidding at $150 for Danny Woodhead next year...you better chickidy check yourself. With that, the 2010 season comes to a close. And the 2011 NT trading department is now open. And Short Bus is in his basement with mascara everywhere. Let's get back to work boys.
Congrats to Naughty Thoughts and for keeping the Jankster Cup Trophy in the AFC for a second straight year.
