It's time for the postseason. Here are the matchups for the first round of the 2009 PAFFL playoffs.
PAAFC Conference
#1 LA Isotopes (9-4) vs. #4 Fightin Irie (8-5)
#2 PA Short Bus (8-4-1) vs. #3 Strongfighters (8-5)
(Irie was swept by Strongfighters, hence the seeding).
PANFC Conference
#1 Beavercats (10-3) vs. #4 IMT (8-5)
#2 Pomona Stoned Hens (9-3-1) vs. #3 Los Frijoles Pintos (8-5)
#1 LA Isotopes (9-4) vs. #4 Fightin Irie (8-5)
#2 PA Short Bus (8-4-1) vs. #3 Strongfighters (8-5)

PANFC Conference
#1 Beavercats (10-3) vs. #4 IMT (8-5)
#2 Pomona Stoned Hens (9-3-1) vs. #3 Los Frijoles Pintos (8-5)
(LFP beat IMT during the season hence the #3 & #4 seeds).
Summary:
Congrats to all the '09 Playoff squads. It's hard to qualify and anything can happen. Good luck to everybody this week.
While yes, anything can happen, the #1 seed should be safe this week. I believe the Short Bus should win a close one (it really depends on the MNF game) and I envision LFP topping Pomona.
Part of the reason for the above predictions would be the high scores Strongfighters, Irie, and Pomona put up last week. Odds are it doesn't happen two weeks in a row.
