    I own firkins cut

    EBF

Should have read: EBF owns firkins cut

    Beavercats

Apparently Fightin' Irie has a topper too (likely to use on Tom Brady).

    Jack Tripper

    I don't think I'll be using my 2nd topper/holdover on Hillis - I'll be holding over Plaxico.

    Beavercats

    Nice, Plaxico!

    Team NT

obviously a lot of recent changes to this list.

strongfighters have the trippers topper so plaxico is screwed. the topper will be used on Westbrook or Kerry Collins

EBF has a topper/holdover and it will be used on Pennington.

I think what this means is that there will be only 3 starting QBs available in the auction with Brady, Manning and Hasselbeck highly sought after.

    Beavercats

actually it means no starting QB's will be entirely available since Brady, Manning, Hasselbeck, Collins & Pennington will all be topped (or heldover).

I think it also means Clinton Portis & Brian Westbrook go for a lot more than normal too b/c if you can't afford the $150+ it will take to get Brady/Manning, you'll be inclined to spend $125 on a top 10 RB to improve your starting lineup. Since you only need 1 starting QB but two starting RB's, it will end up being expensive for all four of those guys.

    EBF

On top of the small supply, we don't have to wait to bid on them! They could be the first 4 players announced

    StrongFighters

I agree, the top 25 players announced will be the top 15 players available and the top 10 rookies available. Which is why people should probably hold guys over more this year than most.

Who are the first 6 players announced and their respective prices?
    My guess is -
Clinton Portis #1 - $125 (no topper on him means its a free for all)
Joseph Addai #2 - $80 (if he's heldover but my gut says he won't be and he'll end up at $95)
Peyton Manning #3 - $151 (somebody will quickly throw out $150, and he'll be topped at $151)
Tom Brady #4 - $148 (he'll get slowly bid up but by $140ish that will drop to two and it'll end at $147, he'll be topped).
Brian Westbrook #5 - $116 (he'll start out slow, ala Brady, but the pace will pick up on him and then he'll be topped)
Ronnie Brown #6 - $95 (he is a top 5 fantasy talent and could explode two years removed from the ACL injury. He'll be topped by Firkin).

    Team NT

if those prices are accurate, there will be an equal number of absolute steals late in the auction.

weaver, where's the draft countdown? I sort of expected my inbox to have hourly messages from you counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the draft.

    Team NT

Favre to be cut instead of VY? damn, i was going to steal VY from you people.

    Beavercat

Those are interesting prices....I think Matt Hasselbeck is being left off that list. He's not in the Manning/Brady class but he's been a decent top 10 guy and is available. Plus at $110 say, he'd be a decent deal (approximately 50% less) for somebody in need of a starting QB.

    Jack Tripper

Well predicted Strongfighters...even though it was probably Short Bus since Strongfighters never capitalizes the "f" in fighters
