With the news dominated by the passing of Michael Jackson, the NFL and fantasy football communities lost a great player today. Steve McNair was apparently murdered, shot & killed, in an apartment with a female friend. The 36 year old, three time pro bowler and one of the first african-american quarterbacks to have the poise of a traditional drop back style thrower to also have the mobility to win games with his legs, will be missed.
While McNair was not a hall of famer, he certainly bare's consideration and likely is one in the world of fantasy football. Combining passing & running prowess, McNair averaged more than 3,200 yards passing, 18 TD's passes, 350 yards rushing & another 4 scores on the ground over his 9 seasons where he started more than 10 games. He also was the NFL co-MVP in 2003 (with Peyton Manning).
