New Jankster Cup

In the same year that we agreed to the Loser Clause verbally, we discussed and agreed to increased 'incremental dues' to fund a new cup, a pool for an 'undefeated team' and other ideas.  I believe Team Kitty may have some recollection to all these discussion topics.  At any rate, I believe the time has come for us to invest in a proper Cup for the PAFFL.  The vision has always been something like the Stanley Cup, a silver bowl/trophy that we can engrave every PAFFL champion since its existence with plenty of room to last us the next fifty+ years. 

Proposal:  We add an additional $30 fee to our annual dues starting in '09, this money will be used purchase a larger silver bowl "Stanley Cup" like trophy that we use for the rest of the PAFFL's existence.  Based on some generic research, it'll take us approx. two years to fund the new cup.  Once the cup has been fully funded, the increase fee will fold over to the general dues and be part of the annual league payouts unless agreed upon by the league for some other purpose. 

Pros:

• We play to win the respect (& bragging rights) of 'owning' the Cup for a year, why not make it something more sustainable
• We will need to invest in this at some point as the current "Jankster Cup" is fine but it was a cheap trophy purchased for $75 in '92 that's starting to show its age.

Cons:

• This will increase the league dues by 15%

Summary:  In these tough economic times I know its difficult to ask for a league dues increase but considering the amount of time on average each of us spends on this, its a small ask in the grand scheme of things.

As long as the Treasurer is fiscally responsible, I'm ok with an increase in dues for a larger Jankster Cup.

Funny how Irie, who works for an energy (ie Oil) company, is calling for a government bailout. I think the auto makers, at least those who focused on low MPG cars, should be getting bailed out by the oil companies. That's their distribution point, right? :)

I would also support a more open PAFFL treasurery. Can we get some Balance Sheets and Income Statements, yearly?
