We're down to the final week of the PAFFL season and there remains an open playoff spot in each conference.
Here's what we know for certain.
In the PAFFL AFC, both division winners are set and one of the wild card teams has been determined.
- AFC South - LA Isotopes (8-4)
- AFC North - South Whore Jibbers (9-3)
- AFC Wildcard - PA Short Bus (7-4-1)
- Fightin' Irie (6-6) holds the last playoff spot but they face off with the hot Isotopes and need a win or a RJFC loss to hold on.
- Ron Jeremy Fanclub (5-7), the only other AFC team still alive, has played Irie to a draw this year (a 74-73 win in week 2 & a 96-94 loss in week 12) but would win on the tiebreaker due to a higher total points scored. So they need to win & Irie to lose, and they're in.
The PAFFL NFC is more wide open, with a division still up for grabs and more teams still in the mix for the lone remaining wild card spot.
- NFC West - East Bay Funk (11-1)
- NFC Wildcard - Salem Beavercats (7-5)
- NFC East or Wildcard - Los Frijoles Pintos (6-5-1)
- The NFC East division is currently led by Los Frijoles Pintos who hold a half game lead over the Pomona Stoned Hens (6-6). A win by LFP (vs. Firkin (4-8)) or a loss by Pomona locks up the division title. LFP is in the playoffs regardless of what happens.
- Pomona plays En Fuego (4-6-2) who became the first team in PAFFL history to record two ties in the same season, if they lose, then BINGO or IMT (both at 5-7) with a win hold the tiebreaker over Pomona.
- BINGO holds the tiebreaker over Pomona & IMT.
- IMT would need Pomona & BINGO to lose and win this week to get in. Don't count them out though as they've won the title twice by getting into the playoffs at the right time & running the table (both times as the #4 seed with under .500 records :)
Congrats to the Isotopes & South Whore Jibbers who took their NFC dominance to the AFC and ran the table.

I think there are a couple of scenarios in which Fuego can still make the playoffs.
1) Fuego must beat Pomona, and have Bingo lose or tie. Given this, Fuego is in if IMT ties, or loses.
2) Fuego must beat Pomona, and have Bingo lose, or tie. Given this, if IMT wins, Fuego must end with more total points than IMT or Pomona.
I put together an spreadsheet (shocking, i know)outlining all scenarios I could come up with. Let me know if you find any errors. Spreadsheet is available here:

Team Kitty is rooting hard for the Trippers in the rookie playoffs and they are also rooting hard for Bingo to just miss the playoffs. At that point, TK will have the inside track on a top 4 rookie pick and a 5-8 rookie pick. I'm willing to trade my position right now for something more concrete. I am also willing to package Kevin Kolb (Philly starter next year) in the deal.

Can't Naughty get in with a win and RJFC/Irie losses?
Posted by: | November 25, 2008 at 06:22 PM
or does Irie hold the tiebreaker there?
Posted by: | November 25, 2008 at 06:22 PM
Irie holds the tiebreaker...

i am rooting for a Team Kitty loss... followed by two TK wins... We can do it!

Team Kitty will have the #4 rookie pick, the only question to be resolved is who has #1-3 & 5-8 :)

Justice will be served if TK gets a higher pick (through the Trippers) than PASB (through TK).
It is possible that the Trippers get the #1 pick three years in a row. . .

Team Kitty could win week 14. Anything is possible.

That would be amazing and ironic if the Trippers franchise gets three consecutive #1 overall rookie picks but doesn't exercise a single one b/c they'd previously traded them in short term deals.
2007 - Adrian Peterson: Dealt for Joe Horn the previous year during or after the auction.
2008 - Darren McFadden: Dealt for Marques Colston (locked into a long-term deal) and Chris Chambers.
2009 - Pick unknown? : Dealt for what?

I thought after the cage match playoff game last year we decided on total points being the multi-team tie breaker, but i could be off.

I believe that's correct, the final tiebreaker on three or more teams is total points scored.

Josh and Lopez are both correct. It's total points with 3 or more teams.
Please note that Chad got a topper as well in the Joe Horn deal.
