The Fightin' Irie and the PA Firefighters hook up for a small yet extremely complicated fantasy football trade involving a kicker of all people.
The Fightin' Irie sends K Rob Bironas ($1, 2008) to PA Firefighters for RB Chris Taylor ($1, 2010) and the option for Irie to purchase PAFF's 2008 available cash prior to the contract buyout-deadline with an exchange rate equivalent to the Brazilian Real for 2009 dollars - rounded (up or down) to the nearest whole number. PAFF cannot make any pure cash deals with other team (ie. '08 for '09). Conversion will be based on the Yahoo! currency converter at the time of the transaction.
e.g. As of yesterday, 2.165 Brazilian Real was equivalent to 1 $US. So if PAFF has $10 in '08 cash prior to the buyout deadline, and Irie exercises the option to purchase all of it with 2009 salary cap, Irie would pay PAFF $4.8 (rounded to $5) in 2009.
Analysis: I like the complexity for such a small deal, given the uncertainty around the PAFF franchise there is a greater than 50% chance any cash they borrow will be forgiven (or actually forgotten) debt come '09 anyway.
