The Pioneer Press reports the financial lending and bond market crisis probably means the Fightin' Irie won't get even a sniff of Brazilian support for a strengthening dollar in the coming state legislative session, meaning 2010 is their next best chance. It takes at least two years to rebuild a struggling economy, and the Irie's cash deal expires after the 2008 season. The United State's projected financial shortfall, which will become public at the end of next month, could be at least $1 trillion.
This is a nice message board post by the GM of the Fightin' Irie which is leveraging future debt for immediate payoff in 2008. Extra points for using current events in the press release too :)
