There is an interesting tidbit that a NYT blog pulled out of a larger research piece that shows the relation of a nation's wealth corresponds directly to its populous' importance of religion - except for the US which is on par with some of the world's poorest countries in its rating of religion very, very important.
The football tie in is that the NFL and colleges are seeing more and more post-game, mid-field prays that also correspond to our nation forgetting about the constitution's clear separation of church & state. Is this a trend that will leave all of us atheist's as outsiders in our own country in the future?
Are you writing stoned again?

No just shocked at how America is so far from the rest of the civilized world at seeing how they're hooked on "opium"

Would you be offended if you saw the same players at mid-field meditating?

The football and sports tie-in is appropriate: religion and sports are the opiates of the masses, why not combine them into one big super circus?
