Congratulations to the PA Firefighters for successfully defending their PAFFL title in winning a back to back effort in '07. This year's Jankster Cup featured the upstart Pomona Stoned Hens and the PA Firefighters.
The final score wasn't very close (Pomona 45 vs. Firefighters 67) as the powerful Firefighters had too many ballers to carry them to victory. For Peyton Manning its back to back titles after not being able to get over the hump in previous years (maybe foreshadowing the '07 NFL playoff too?).
The Firefighters deserve a lot of credit for building a flexible team built around a combination of studs (Manning, Carson Palmer, Antonio Gates) and quality veterans/undiscovered gems (Justin Fargas & Kenton Keith). They will enter '08 as one of the favorites and on a quest to tie the LA Isotopes as the only franchises to three-peat.
Interesting notes: This was the ninth victory in the past ten years for the PANFC teams (Short Bus won while part of the PANFC), and fourteenth in the past sixteen seasons.
