Can you believe that shit? The Philadephia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys today but the play that will be remembered for years was the last one that mattered. On 2nd down from the Dallas 25 with 2+ minutes to go, the Eagles RB Brian Westbrook took a right sweep, made a move on a safety and was on his way to the end zone on a twenty five yard run...until he decided to drop down at the one inch line. With no timeouts left, the Eagles could let the clock roll down to the two minute warning then kneel down four consecutive plays.
For Eagles or Cowboys fans, it was an innocent, game finishing, team play to make. But for fantasy leaguers that TD was crucial in fantasy football playoffs. In the PAFFL it was the difference for the Ron Jeremy Fanclub. They were down seven points, that play alone would have tied up the game and they had QB Tony Romo left in a hurry up situation with two minutes to play. So in short, he would have won and moved on to the Jankster Cup Championship game next week.
Ron Jeremy is out, after one of the truly memorable PAFFL seasons. That built a team of QB's Tom Brady and Romo, thrown in Westbrook at RB, and they were dominate for the entire season. Unfortunately luck sometimes is critical to winning titles and this year is another example of that. The best team won't win the title but that's why the playoffs are so intense!
That was truly painful. I actually wasn't watching the game and assumed he was tackled at the one yard line. A few owners called/texted me so I watched the replay in horror. Doesn't Westbrook know each TD is worth millions!!??
A few other ways RJFC would have won: Started Pittman instead of Duckett (thank you CBS Sportsline for indicating Pittman wouldn't play), Brady throws one TD pass, Romo throws one TD pass.
UNBELIEVABLE.
