I entered this evening's Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Sunday night football game up 1 point (it says 3 but actually there is a negative 2 not accounted for from Reggie Wayne's fumble returned for a TD on Thursday) on the East Bay Funk with our respective TE's left. He has Vernon Davis going tomorrow and I had Jason Witten tonight.
He has averaged more than 800 yards receiving the past four years but after only 1 TD in '06 he needed to rebound in '07 if he's going to be a fantasy stud at tight end. Well Witten stepped up big-time, he made a statement that he is a top 5 fantasy TE again by catching a TD & pulling in 116 yards receiving. No way he'll continue this type of performance but he came up HUGE for me, now I enter the 49'er game able to root for my hometown team (Vernon Davis and all) and in a much better position to win with a 14 point lead. Witten wasn't predicted to play as well but maybe he's just under rated.
Fantasy is all about playmakers and Witten was w/o a doubt one today.
Whitten could be the first TE NFL MVP
