Listed below are links to weblogs that reference RB T.J. Duckett for a future rookie pick...:

    Great trade for the Beavercats...

Getting something for someone that wasn't going to make his roster.

    The rich get richer.

Ron Jeremy officially declares war on the Short Bus.

    Black Liberace

Trades are not always zero sum Short Bus - I think this is a good deal for both. Beavercats have several players that won't make his roster but are roster worthy. $2 post auction and rights to a future non-top 5 rookie pick seems to me to be a pretty fair valuation for a player that will likely start on RJFC's squad. Think of it as "unlocking value" like a company does when they sell off parts that become more valuable on their own or with other companies. Duckett has zero value on Beavercats' roster, while he may have lots of value on RJFC's.

Listen, BL, here's how the PAFFL works. You may not know what I'm about to say, since your teams are consistently crappy and you trade away #1 rookie picks for a topper and a sleepless Joe Horn.

Wetzel ALWAYS drafts too many players. You can play HARDBALL with him to get these players. The longer you make him wait, the better deal you'll get. He could have had Wetzel down to $2 for next season and not include the rookie pick.

And about the rookie pick... Lopez is either going to make the playoffs this year or just miss it. Thus, there's a good chance he's going to end up with a solid 6-8 rookie pick this upcoming year. For TJ Duckett? Come on. There's a reason no one wanted TJ Duckett at the draft. He sucks. He's not even a bye week player. He may vulture 2-3 touchdowns, but I think it's more likely he gets Practice Squad'ed or get Chris Brown'ed from 2006. He's just not a good player and a waste of a roster spot.

The real issue is Ron Jeremy's poor draft and general inability to draft key players. They lucked into Brian Westbrook but what else do they have to show for themselves? Instead of bidding 3-5 bucks on some key rookies, they're off spending $37 on Lorenzo Booker. Memo to Ron Jeremy: You suck at drafting.

There's a reason that Jonah makes the playoffs (great luck with rookie picks); there's a reason Josh makes the playoffs (great drafts plus his triple A team IMT); there's a reason Weaver makes the playoffs (crackhead trades); and there's a reason I make the playoffs (best eye for future talent in the league, especially at the QB position).

This might have something to do with me playing football in college; I'm not sure.

Bottom line, horrible trade for Ron Jeremy, but I'm not at all surprised you can't see that, Black Liberace.

    P.S. I hate you too

    Black Liberace

short bus's angry blithering response was expected, even though my comment was not at all directed at him. Hate, on the other hand, was not expected, and by saying "I hate you, too", I assume you meant in addition to RJFC, rather than implying that I already hated you, since the Black Liberace hates no one and loves all, even the hateful, sad and wretched short bus.

Lorenzo Booker is admittedly a bad pick. Were we talking about him? TJ Duckett 2-3 touchdowns? He has averaged 7.5 the last 4 seasons. Assume 2-3 on the low end of the possibilities, probably as likely a possibility of a high range of 10. I think the value of a 2-10 TD player is probably right around 2 post-auction dollars and a 6-16 pick. Could he have gotten a better deal by waiting? Maybe. But this deal is fair.

    todd2006

Duckett will not score 5 TDs this season.

2nd, it's not a 6-16 rookie pick... Ron Jeremy is not going to win the cup. Try 6-10, maybe 6-8.

    I hate you, BL.

    Black Liberace

I'll take the over on 4 TD's then - and I'll tack it on to your bill (head to head match and Peterson/Lynch vs. Foster/Taylor)...not like you'd ever pay up, I fully expect a spineless Chris Brown Firefighters bet pullout

    todd2006

AD and Lynch will outscore Foster and Taylor. We bet. I hold you to it.

    Black Liberace

It's not me we need to worry about holding to the Foster/Taylor deal, as history has proven. And don't forget we also have our head to head bet. And now I'm adding the TJ Duckett over 4 TD's unless you're too pusswah to take it...which would not be surprising to learn you were just blabbing but didn't have the stones to back up the talk with a bet. Same terms as head to head, $25 tab at the Whole Enchilada next Monterey draft.

    todd2006

    More than 4 TDs, done.

    RonJeremy

I officially declare The Jack Trippers as my new favorite franchise. I continue to declare Short Bus as a true enemy.

Kevin Jones on the PUP, Tatem Bell never gets goaline carries = TJ Duckett for MVP.
