    Barry Bonds Rookie Card

Bonds_rookie_cardThis isn't football related but given Bonds chase for Hank Aaron's record I thought it was good timing to showcase his rookie card being passed around the internet.

Now I'm one of those folks who don't like Barry Bonds but I respect and admire his talent, and I feel he's the best baseball player of this generation.  Remember this man won 3 MVP awards (tied for most ever) before 1994, at least five seasons before Balco involvement, and let's be fair, Bonds never broke any MLB rules (performance enhancing supplements were not illegal until 2003) and just as many pitchers (in my mind) took drugs to help recovery times and velocity as hitters took to hit home runs (you really think 44 year old Roger Clemens could hit 95+ and be this dominant w/o great dedication, an impressive commitment to staying in terrific shape and a little help from the right 'supplement' to keep his arm 'live').

That said, this is a funny picture that everybody should enjoy - including Bonds himself.
