South Whore Jibbers send the rights to RB Rudi Johnson to the Jack Trippers in exchange for RB Fred Taylor (2007 $69), WR Lee Evans (2008 $21), and a 2007 unconditional cut (from Pomona Stoners & Salem Beavercats).
Essentially the Trippers dealt a below average #2 fantasy RB (Fred Taylor) and an emerging #1 fantasy WR (Evans) for a solid #1 fantasy RB (Rudi Johnson). In typical fantasy leagues this would be a fair deal, maybe actually a little to 'fair' for the Trippers. But throw contracts into the mix and the 'fairness' (IMO) tilts to the other side.
Rudi Johnson will go for somewhere between $90 & $110 (lots of cap room & 9 of the 16 teams need a #1 back). Evans & Taylor combined will cost somewhere in that range. Throw in the unconditional cut (conservatively valued at $10), and the Jibbers walk away with a great new WR starter, save $23 (by cutting Ryan Moats - their other cut will be used on Kevan Barlow - saving another $40) with the cut and drop from a perspective #1 RB to a #2 or likely #3 guy with Taylor.
Thoughts?
Wow, gimme Rudi for those two any day of the week.

Yep...its pretty much highway robbery in a traditional (annual) league.

I'm happy with the deal.
Getting that second cut was key and I feel that I will enter the draft in a better position than before.
I have 2 QBs in Bulger/Cutler
I have 2 RBs in Gore/Fragile Freddy
I have 2 WR in Evans/Plaxico
I still money left to add depth.

You have to remember FanProphet that have toppers on a player in our league doesn't guarantee you get him. The Trippers also have toppers on Shawn Alexander and will need to hold $300 of $500 of their cap to insure that they get both players.

I think the owner that traded Rudi Johnson got the best end of the deal. First, Fred Taylor isn't a bad deal at $69. Not great, but not horrible. Getting the cut from the Jack Trippers allows him to cut either Moats at $24 or barlow at $40. That's a HUGE savings.
Evans is underpriced in the $20s by at least 10 bucks and is a huge addition to SWJ's squad.
Just getting the topper rights to Rudi means you're going to pay Fair Market Value (FMV). This isn't a good thing necessarily. If Rudi goes cheap (possible, but unlikely), great deal for the Trippers. However, the most likely scenario has Rudi going for $120 and the Trippers having to spend $121 on him. That's not a great deal and I'd rather have Fred Taylor, Evans, and the cut at a net cost of $70 (or less) than Rudi at $121.
But that's just me.
