Team Kitty and Ron Jeremy Fanclub announced a trade. Both clubs have been active this off-season remaking their respective squads.
Team Kitty sends RB Cedric Benson ($55, '07), a 2008 DS spot and $4 in 2008 cap room to Ron Jeremy for QB Jake Delhomme ($55*, '07), QB David Carr's rights, WR Lavernanues Coles ($19, '08) and $7 in 2007 cap space (which negates an earlier $7 TK owed RJ).
Analysis: RJ is banking on C. Benson developing into a quality featured RB, which I unfortunately don't see happening. If he does, then this will work out to be a good deal for Ron Jeremy. Otherwise he gave up at least one year of a quality second tier #1 fantasy QB (Delhomme averaged 26 TD's per season in '04 & '05) and a quality #2 fantasy WR. For this season, which is what Team Kitty plays for, this is a deal in his favor...but again it won't be truly measured until we know if Benson is a bust or not for the Bears.
First of all, I'm not a fan of Coles. He's at an ok price, but still, nothing special. Jeremy C looks to be the future of that WR corps, although one year does not a career make. Delhomme is a solid QB. I'd actually rank him as a low-end #1 starter since there are 16 teams in the PAFFL.
Still, I think Benson is going to have a good season. I have tried to trade for him multiple times. I like benson at $55 behind Westbrook.

So do the Beavercats love or hate the Carolina QB situation??? At a recent BBQ, the outspoken GM bashed both Delhomme and Carr, at one point mentioning how former first rounders never reclaim their glory after losing a starting job. Was all of that simply a cheap negotiating ploy -- he recenly inquired about Carr -- or simply a knee-jerk reaction to downgrade a RJFC team on the cusp of greatness?

Actually what I said was that one year of Delhomme is not as valuable as 3+ years of Marshawn Lynch.
I like Jake Delhomme, who I believe will throw between 22-25 TD's, as the Panthers return to the playoffs. What I didn't write in the analysis but should have is that Ron Jeremy has now dealt the #2 pick (Lynch) & WR L. Coles for the rights to Chris Brown & Cedric Benson. If Benson lives up to the #4 draft billing, RJ will be happy...

I think Benson is going to be worth it this season. The only downside is that it's just one season at $55. If he has an ok season, RJFC might be forced to $80 him next season... eh.
I like giving up Coles at $19. I'd rather take a chance on a different WR at that price.

Say what you want about Coles but he's underrated at that price - look at his numbers over the past 5 years. He's not a stud but he's a quality fantasy starter (at least in 16 team leagues where you must start at least 2 WR's).
