Indianapolis Colts selected Ohio State WR Anthony Gonzales with the #32 and final selection of the 1st round of the 2007 NFL draft. Gonzales is an ideal slot receiver for the Colts with sure hands, good quickness and open field running ability, so going to the Colts is a great fit for the Ohio State product.
Scouting Report:
- Position: Wide Receiver
- Height: 6'
- Weight: 190
- 40 Time: 4.45
Gonzales has adequate size, good speed, quickness, he runs crisp routes and good football instincts. He is a fearless receiver who will run routes across the middle and can develop into a quality #2 starting receiver for the Colts in the next few years.
Fantasy Prognosis: Gonzales will be the Colts #3 slot receiver and should be very productive in his rookie season. He won't be fantasy starter but he could put up 750 yards and 5 to 6 TD's, numbers that may help a fantasy leaguer win a week during a tough bye week. Keep him as a fantasy reserve for now but keep an eye on him b/c he could end up being a productive fantasy receiver (think Brandon Stokley in '04 w/ 10+ TD's).
2007 Predicted Numbers:
Touches: 33 Catches
Total Yards: 420 Yards
TD's: 3 TD's
