Oakland Raiders selected Louisville RB Michael Bush with the #100
overall selection (#1 in the 4th round) in the 2007 NFL draft. Bush has the size & speed to be a dominant RB and was expected to be a 1st round selection before a broken leg and a knee scope forced him to miss the season, all star games and scouting combine. The Raiders got a steal though with this selection, Bush will start his career as the change of pace, short yardage option behind LaMont Jordan & Dominic Rhodes but it wouldn't surprise anybody if he was the featured back as early as 2008.
Scouting Report:
- Position: Running Back
- Height: 6'2"
- Weight: 247
- 40 Time: 4.55
Bush is a freak of nature with massive size (6'1", 243 pounds), good speed (4.5 40) and vision/quickness to run between the tackles or take the ball the distance. He has good elusiveness, balance and good running instincts to be a featured back. The biggest knock on him is durability, and most scouts would agree that a healthy Bush would have been a top 15 selection.
Fantasy Prognosis: Expect him to get phased in during the season while putting up 500 total yards & 4 or 5 TD's sharing time with LaMont Jordan & Dominic Rhodes. Bush however has great long-term value as he likely will be the power back in the Raiders attack in 2008 as Oakland releases LaMont Jordan next season.
2007 Predicted Numbers:
Touches: 65 Carries
Total Yards: 265 Yards
TD's: 2
